High pressure oxidizing gas.
Vigorously accelerates combustion.
Can be fatal even with adequate oxygen.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
ROUTES OF ENTRY: Inhalation
ACUTE EFFECTS: This material is toxic by the reduction of the blood's oxygen carrying capacity resulting in oxygen starvation of body cells. The effects of oxygen deficiency result in simple asphyxiation. Symptoms include rapid respiration, diminished mental alterness, impaired muscular corrdination, faulty judgement, depression of all sensations, emotional instability, and fatigue. If asphyxiation progresses, symptoms include nausea, vomiting, prostration, and loss of consciousness. Slightly irritating to the eyes and mucous membranes.
CHRONIC EFFECTS: None known
MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY OVEREXPOSURE: None known
OTHER EFFECTS OF OVEREXPORSURE: None
CARCINOGENICITY (US ONLY):
NTP - No
IARC MONOGRAPHS - No
OSHA REGULATED - No
INHALATION: Immediately remove victim to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use what is appropriate for surrounding fire.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING INSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Keep fire exposed cylinders cool with water spray.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: Highly corrosive fluoride fumes.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Cylinder rupture may occur under fire conditions. Strong oxidizing agent that can support a fire. These fires may generate toxic and reactive fluoride compounds.
| 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES |
CLEAN UP PROCEDURES: Evacuate and ventilate area. Persons involved in the control and repair of the leak should be provided with all the necessary protective equipment and be properly trained for emergency situations involving this material.
SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT: If leak is in the user's equipment, be sure to purge piping with inert gas prior to attempting repairs.
PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING: Secure cylinder when using to protect from falling. Use suitable hand truck to move cylinders.
PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN STORAGE: Store in well ventilated areas.Keep valve protection cap on cylinders when not in use.Store away from heat, flame, and sparks.
| 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION |
ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation to maintain concentration below exposure limits.
EYE / FACE PROTECTION: Safety glasses
SKIN PROTECTION: None
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: In case of leakage, use self-contained breathing apparatus.
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Safety shoes when handling cylinders.
