CORPORATE OVERVIEW

Established in 1960, Scott Specialty Gases was first known for its work in atmospheric monitoring and other pollution related studies. Today, Scott is the leading international producer and supplier of mixed and pure specialty gases as well as high-performance gas handling equipment and specialty gas delivery systems. Ten distinct classes of gas mixtures are available to meet virtually any application needs for industrial, scientific and medical industries. Scott specializes in developing calibration gas mixtures for environmental monitoring applications, maintains a close working relationship with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and is the world’s largest producer of EPA protocol gases. Low-ppm NO protocols, low-ppm NO/CO blends and Title V Ammonia Calibration Standards are Scott exclusives. Custom gas mixtures can be engineered to meet any unique specialty gas application requirement.

Scott Specialty Gases has over 40 years of experience developing leading-edge technology such as Acublend®, Aculife® and GravStat™ that facilitate production of highly accurate and stable gas mixtures containing component concentrations as low as parts-per-billion. Scott is also the sole-source producer of candidate gaseous Standard Reference Materials for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and maintains the world’s largest inventory of NIST-traceable reference materials (NTRMs). Scott works with other metrological organizations, including the Netherlands Measurement Institute (NMi). Scott also maintains a Global Cross-Reference™ Service for low or high NOx, SO2, Btu measurement of natural gas, beverage-grade CO2 and others. The service enables government and industrial laboratories to effectively assess accuracy of their in-house analytical measurements via an independent party.

SCOTTY® Transportables, the industry’s largest selling brand of nonreturnable products, provide high-purity and accurate calibration gases in a variety of nonreturnable gas cylinder sizes and volumes. High reliability and convenient size make them a cost-effective alternative to returnable, high-pressure gas cylinders whenever portability or limited gas quantities are needed. SCOTTY Transportables permit substantial cost savings by eliminating gas cylinder rental and two-way shipping charges associated with refillable cylinders. Small gas cylinder sizes also allow users to purchase small amounts of specialty gas.

Scott Specialty Gases combines technology-driven products with value-added services to help specialty gas users take cost out of business. Here at scottgas.com we provide customers with powerful eTools including online purchasing of all specialty gases and gas handling equipment, electronic invoicing and eScott® Supply Chain Management. eScott includes online inventory, product expiration notification, customized product FOLIOs™, 3-year cylinder history reports, online Certificates of Accuracy and MSDS documentation. The Scott's Solutions Center provides a toll-free hotline (800-21-SCOTT) where customers can get fast, accurate answers and expert recommendations from engineers who understand complex specialty gas applications.

Headquartered in the Plumsteadville, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Scott maintains numerous ISO 9001-2000 certified manufacturing facilities throughout North America and in Europe to provide on-time delivery by Scott trucks and by common carrier.
