When Instrumentation Laboratory, a long time partner of Scott Medical Products, began the development of their Synthesis totally integrated blood-gas system, they turned to Scott's engineering team right at the conceptual stage. Scott worked with IL engineers, designers and product managers in both Italy and Massachusetts to develop a product to meet IL's worldwide needs for calibration products for this unique device. This development partnership, working from the ground up, guarantees the integrity and performance of your product from the calibration gas perspective.

Scott Medical Products is working closely with INOTherapeutics, a division of AGA/Linde, as their worldwide exclusive supplier of INOcal™, nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) calibration gases. These products are supplied to INOTherapeutics for use as the calibration gas with INO (Inhaled Nitric Oxide) therapy. NO is currently approved for use in respiratory failure in newborns and is being evaluated for many other applications. Scott's years of research with nitric oxide enabled us to form a partnership for the supply of gases and gas handling equipment for this exciting new medical therapy.

In the ophthalmic market, Scott Medical Products manufacturers Ispan™ for distribution through both Alcon and Escalon. These gases, sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) and perfluoropropane (C₃F₈), are used as retinal tamponades in the ophthalmic procedure – pneumatic retinopexy. Scott pioneered the approval of these special medical gases that are listed as Class III medical devices by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Scott, Alcon and Escalon have partnered with some of the leading ophthalmic researchers to develop these cutting edge ophthalmic gases and gas delivery systems.
