Scott Medical Products produces a variety of fluorocarbon products as Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. Used for applications ranging from the key ingredient in ultrasound contrast agents to eye surgery, Scott's products meet the highest standards for quality, regulatory compliance and purity.

Perfluoropropane and sulfur hexafluoride are supplied as either active pharmaceutical ingredients or Class III medical devices. The device grade product is supplied under the tradename Ispan™ and is distributed worldwide through Alcon and Escalon for use in pneumatic retinopexy. The active pharmaceutical ingredient grade is sold directly to pharmaceutical companies as required.

Both perfluoropropane and sulfur hexafluoride fluorocarbons are manufactured in our cGMP facility in Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania, using our direct fluorination technology. Drug Master Files (DMFs) have been submitted to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and can be referenced by special permission. Product is available today and in quantities ranging from one pound to one ton. Custom package sizes are available on request.

Custom active pharmaceutical ingredient fluorocarbons are also available on request.
