Toxic Organic Calibration Standards and Mixtures

Need Help?

Scott Toxic Organic calibration standards and gas mixtures provide reliable, accurate performance when measuring volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in ambient air at parts-per-million (ppm) or parts-per-billion (ppb) concentration levels. These calibration mixtures are utilized for all commonly used methods of VOC monitoring including: EPA Method TO-14A and Method TO-15/17; EPA PAMS (Photochemical Assessment Monitoring System); TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality); and Massachusetts APH (Air-Phase Petroleum Hydrocarbons). Other VOC mixtures are also available including BTEX mixtures in various concentrations, reduced sulfurs, landfill, fenceline and MVOC monitoring specialty gas mixtures, transformer oil mixtures, natural gas standards, and more.

Scott Toxic Organic standards and gas mixtures are available in our SCOTTY® 110L transportable aluminum cylinder, or your choice of two larger, returnable cylinders that provide greater and more economical gas volumes. All of these calibration mixtures come in cylinders that feature Scott’s exclusive Aculife® cylinder treatment process for guaranteed mixture stability.

Scott Toxic Organic Standards Features

Method TO-14A Calibration Standards
Scott’s TO-14A calibration standards consist of 39 components at concentrations of 1 ppm or 100 ppb in a balance of VOC free nitrogen. Scott also offers 41-component and 43-component TO-14A standards, as well as numerous TO-14A subsets (below). TO-14A Plus mixture is our 41-component standard plus acetaldehyde, acrolein, cumene and 1,1,1,2-tetrachloroethane in a balance of VOC free nitrogen at concentrations of 1 ppm or 100 ppb. Custom mixtures are available.

Method TO-14A Subsets

All subsets are available at standard concentrations of 1 ppm or 100 ppb in a balance gas of VOC free nitrogen. Custom concentrations are available. TO-14A Subsets include:
BTEX Mixture
This 6-component gas mixture is available at standard concentrations of 10 ppm, 1 ppm or 100 ppb in a balance gas of VOC free nitrogen.

JAPAN Calibration Mixture
This 9-component gas mixture is available in standard concentrations of 1 ppm and 100 ppb in a balance gas of VOC free nitrogen. Custom concentrations are available.

U.S. EPA PAMS Calibration Standards
Scott’s EPA PAMS (Photochemical Assessment Monitoring System) standards are engineered for monitoring levels of ozone and its precursors as mandated under 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments. Scott offers the PAMS standard at the EPA-specified ppb concentrations and also at 100 ppb or 1 ppm.

Method TO-15/TO-17 Calibration Standards
Scott’s TO-15 / TO-17 calibration gas standards provide 62 components at concentrations of 1 ppm or 100 ppb in a balance gas of VOC free nitrogen. Other concentrations are available as custom gas mixtures.

Method TO-15/TO-17 Subset 25
The TO-15/TO-17 Subset 25 standard consists of 25 components which are not contained in the TO-14 standard. It is available in concentrations of 1 ppm or 100 ppb in a balance gas of VOC free nitrogen.

Massachusetts APH Calibration Standards
Scott manufactures this standard to measure gaseous-phase concentrations of volatile aliphatic and aromatic petroleum hydrocarbons in air and soil gas, as outlined by Method for the Determination of Air-Phase Petroleum Hydrocarbons (APH), published by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. Concentration for all compounds is 1 ppm V.

TCEQ Calibration Standard
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality uses this 98-component calibration standard for determining contaminants in ambient air. Scott’s TCEQ Standard includes compounds at concentrations specified by TCEQ. Not available in SCOTTY 110L cylinders.
