Air pollution and emissions regulations affecting utilities, municipal waste combustors, hazardous waste burners, and other industrial facilities (Title 40 Parts 60, 75 and 266 of the Code of Federal Regulations) require zero and high-level daily calibration of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS). For effective Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) calibration, it is necessary that CEMS are zeroed with pure gases free of the air pollutants being monitored. Scott's CEM Zero/Dilution Air™ is analyzed and certified to contain very low concentrations of sulfur dioxide (SO2), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), total hydrocarbons (THC), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and water. These products are shipped with a Certficate of Conformance asserting the product’s purity.

Acid Rain CEM Zero Gases (CFR part 40 72.2)
  In order to comply with emissions regulations for zeroing your Continuous Emission Monitoring System, you should confirm that your Zero Air is described in Code of Federal Regulations 40 Part 72.2. The EPA Acid Rain auditors and state air enforcement personnel will review the certifications onsite for the zero air to determine compliance with the issues listed above.
